Sometimes More is Less

I’ve spent the last few months selling or giving away my old Thinkpads and hardware. The proceeds have gone towards buying a Macbook. This might come as a surprise to those who know me because I took pride in the fact that I completed my undergraduate work with a laptop made in 2011 and got through the first year of my master’s degree with a laptop from 2008 that couldn’t connect to wifi.
So, why switch? Switching was providential in a lot of ways, and it opened a lot of doors. Immediately, I noticed that I had spent more time configuring the older laptop’s os than actually using it for work. Even though the Macbook presents a greater opportunity for distraction, I’ve found that I barely spend any time on it because it just works.

is a great package manager.
The battery life, performance, and ability to use facetime seal the deal.
